Welcome to Grants Pass, Oregon. Grants Pass has been designated the Josephine County seat since 1887, and serves as the major commercial center for the county of over 78,000. The city of Grants Pass has a current population of 24,790.

Located in Southwest Oregon, the city of Grants Pass is settled in a luscious valley and surrounded by the Siskiyou, Cascade and Coastal Mountain ranges. Winding through our city is the mighty Rogue River, one of the original "wild and scenic" rivers. Not far from Grants Pass are the beautiful, Illinois and Applegate Rivers and beautiful lakes and streams.

Grants Pass has grown into a city rich with vast recreational activities such as blue ribbon fishing, kayaking, white water rafting, camping, premier golfing, hiking or whatever any outdoor enthusiast desires. Grants Pass is also renowned for the Hellgate Jet Boat Excursions, the world famous Boatnik festival, and the Rogue Triathlon Hellgate Challenge.

Many of our homes and buildings in downtown Grants Pass are designated as a National Historic District. Our streets are lined with quaint stores, antique shops and unique restaurants. On the cultural side Grants Pass hosts several events such as First Friday Art night, Art Along the Rogue, Growers' Market, Concerts in the Park and Bearfest. The city of Grants Pass is proud to support the Rogue Theatre, The Grants Pass Performing Arts Center, Grants Pass Museum of Art, the Josephine County Historical Society Schmidt House Museum as well as several local playhouses.

Grants Pass, located off the I-5 corridor, makes easy access to the towns of Medford and Ashland to the south. Roseburg and Portland to the north and is only a short 2 hour drive to our beautiful Oregon coast. Dotted around our lovely valley you will also encounter several fine Oregon Wineries and orchards.

For a day of exploring drive south to Jacksonville, famous for the Britt Festival or the city of Medford home of the Pear Blossom Festival and famous Harry & David's. The charming town of Ashland is well known for its Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Mount Ashland Ski Resort. Also within a days drive is the pristine upper Rogue River and Crater Lake National Park. Driving west towards the town of Cave Junction you will encounter the magnificent Oregon Caves National Monument.
